ART INVESTMENT

It should be an artist’s goal to achieve in their skills the highest measure of diversity with immovable integrity to obtain the most masterful results in their artwork; instead many have chosen mediocrity with complacency because they lack the desire to optimally develop their skills which ultimately leads to inherent limitations.  Many artists cultivate one style that contains one set of color schemes coupled with untrained brush strokes; some have the audacity to adopt and promote their limitations as gimmicks by pronouncing them their own special brand, new to the art world.  From this standpoint one can only acquire mediocre artwork from an unskilled artist regardless of the popularity they obtained by using certain gimmicks.

 Eric invokes in his artwork a very calculable application of media on the various surfaces of his selected substrates coupled with highly trained stroke techniques working together in concert -- factors which are vital in creating all his artwork.  This is accomplished with his vast knowledge of the chemical compositions associated with various media; their active behavior under certain conditions like relative humidity with ambient temperature as applied to various substrate surfaces.  He also knows the bristle structure of most brushes and the crucial point when working tufts are splayed from rendering their optimal effect.  Therefore Eric’s stroke details are made with a high degree of precision, and his color schemes are not limited to a narrow spectrum of hues.  Eric’s skill allows him to create a broad variety of artwork using diverse media beyond paints and without the use of drafting tools and photographic equipment.    

When dignified art lovers and connoisseurs alike submit their professional critique of Eric’s artwork, they will have to attest to the obvious specificities of his skills.  When the artwork of Eric White is closely examined it shall be undeniable that most surface textures in his paintings are reminiscent of the paint applications used by certain masters of the impressionist and renaissance eras and enhanced by Eric’s own flare.  This is the result of Eric’s very personal and intense study of some undisputed old master’s works in both periods.  He appreciates how those old masters had to make their own pigments and brushes; they couldn’t go to the local art supply store and purchase items off the shelf.  With this in mind Eric acquires only the best art supplies that can be procured which make a huge difference in the quality and physical integrity of his work.    

Eric places a great deal of consideration on sharing his artwork with persons who are cultured enough to appreciate the creative skills or respect the polemics of the subject matter required to produce it.  Because of the costly measures associated with actually procuring original artwork most people simply cannot afford it; however, by utilizing modern technology, high resolution limited edition prints can be reproduced in the same format as the original artwork.  This new giclée printmaking technology allows affordability in reproducing original artwork on museum-quality canvas and high quality linen paper.   

With this technology much inference has been placed on limited edition prints as solid personal investments, however, many artists will not recognize predetermined edition sizes of a print for any set limit if their artwork is in demand.   In other words if a certain  print becomes a best seller, most artists will not close the edition with a set limit in total disregard of the closure number they may have placed on the print.  It would simply be to their financial advantage to continue running it as an open edition.

However, the unlimited production of any best selling art print would not be a lucrative investment for any art buyer because the more common an art piece is with all its popularity due to continual sales the less rare it becomes.  Without the adherence of preset limits the equity in an art print wouldn’t gain any more value than a typical black light poster of the 1970’s.  Nevertheless, Eric takes much delight in associating himself with the growth of his client’s art investments.  This is done initially by insuring the artwork has more worth after the purchase than before by closing the edition immediately after reaching the art print predetermined limit number.  Of course,  implementing  this closure perhaps in the height of its popularity allows the print to possess a much greater value after purchase as it becomes unavailable; thus making it a very rare art piece.
